TYE Boston And Sleepinform

Through the TYE Boston program, I helped develop Sleep Inform, a smart pillow that tracks sleep and provides personalized sound therapy. After a year of hard work, my team earned 1st Runner-Up in the pitch competition, fueling my passion for entrepreneurship and innovation.

TYE Boston

Starting fall 2023, I joined a very well-known program called TYE Boston which is a one-year in-person entrepreneurial program for high school students where the essentials of creating and scaling a startup are taught. Throughout the program, I got the opportunity to learn from workshops, mentorship, and insights from industry leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists.

Throughout the program, I was able to learn how to start a successful start-up from 0. We started from the basics such as forming your team of founders and then moved on to identifying real-world problems, brainstorming innovative ideas, conducting market research, creating a business plan, pitching to investors, and much more

The Idea: SleepInform

The most rewarding experience from TYE was working with a team to come up with our startup idea. After much brainstorming, Sleepinform was created, a pillow that monitors sleep and provides personalized sound therapy. The idea began as quite general: how to increase the quality of sleep for people in modern society who are distracted and stressed.

Our smart pillow operates by having built-in technology that analyzes a person's sleep patterns and has built-in speakers to provide a surround sound experience. All the stages of the design process re-conceptualization right to developing a pitchable prototype required teamwork, creativity, and persistence.

The Pitch Competitions

After around a year of development in preparation for the TYE Boston Pitch Competition, my team and I were excited to present Sleepinform. Months of hard work and refining our product, crafting our pitch deck and business plan, and collaborating as a team led to an incredible moment as we earned 1st Runner-Up out of around 20 teams.

This achievement not only validated our idea but also deepened my strong passion for entrepreneurship.
